I need to do Something about it

I have been spending so much time inside the house that I think I should go out and have some air.  But my dear it's not that easy as number 1. British weather is just so unpredictable although we are having brightly coloured sky full day it's still encroaching the night and oh boy oh boy I do need some blackout blinds for my room.  The sun is shining day and night.  It's been  a while to see those twinkling stars at night.  But you know  I can't even complain about it Cause when it doesn't shine it really is very gloomy dull and dark chilled windy..  Oh boy do I hate winter too.

I just read back and realized I completely lost track and forgot about number 2 and 3.  But now it seams I'm again in good mood.  That's the joy of writing.

So for my next project I have been saving some sturdy diaper boxes that come two sticked together as I buy in giga packs thanks to Amazon online.  Amazon family subscribers get it delivered home every month without fail.  Yes you need to subscribe  and keep checking though as kids grow.

So I was wondering whether something can be done with them as they are really  strong.  The other day my kids made it a car and drove all around the house.  And one day I even found my cell phone inside it among nappies.  Yes I loose it almost every day and every time  find it almost in a bizarre place.

I have recently seen some nice cloth boxes in range of sizes for keeping laundry to goodies whatever fancies you.  But it was hefty £10.00 onwards that I was definitely not going to pay. I came home and forgot about those pretty boxes doing my everyday picking up Things off the floor in kids bedroom and Snap..  I could use the boxes in this room for keeping it tidy even for 5 minutes ( yes that's the max time achieved).   But this nappy design all around the box looks awkward.  Why don't I cover it with the cloth and make it personalised.

That gives me shiver but really have got everything for this project.
I think tomorrow would be a great day to start it,  though I can't promise as DS  has cough and this night is dreadful.

But still hoping for the sunshine oops did I say I didn't like it before. Who cares..  Blah I am already super excited and if all is well I might get a nice piece of upholstered box by the end of the week and I would update in this space same time.
Till then Ta-ta..

Shoe box recycled

Having bought anew pair of shoes for run but cant figure out what to do with the box that it came with.  These running shoes come in such sturdy boxes but dirty shoes always end up on metal rack and never once goes in the box.  Hmm..

I have a fine collection of these boxes which were lying around with bits and pieces.
Recently I lost some mails that came through the post.  After spending a lot of time looking g for it I found it in the DS toy box I figured it was time to make some labeled space for the incoming mail and posts.

Nothing could beet the sturdy fancy looking card boxes we see in the store being sold for a fortune so I came up with an idea of converting the shoe box into a mail box.
 Here's what you need

1: a shoe box
2: fancy wrapping paper
3:some glue and scissors

Just wrap the box in a fancy gift wrap leaving the lid open.  Put up a label if you want and ta da..

Salt dough baby hand prints keepsake

My baby is turning one this week and I couldn't get his hand imprints yet.  This year passed on very quickly.  And haven't been able to upload most in the blog.  But finally decided to take his imprint by using the same old salt dough technique.

Things we need for this inexpensive art are as follows

1 . 1 Cup salt
2. 1 Cup plain flour
3 . 1/2 Cup water  to mix

Take everything in  a bowl and mix with some fork until get a play dough consistency. Add water if you need more.  Pat it in a shape that you would like it in.
I gave it a heart shape.

Now the biggest job is to get baby hand and foot imprints.  My almost one year old is very confident Walker and it's almost impossible to keep him in place.  So I buckled him up in the high chair and then pressed his tiny foot and hand against the dough.

After a few attempts I got the perfect imprint then put it into the oven to bake for an hour.

The result was impressive. Now the only thing left is to colour in some cute baby blue paint.
